Coaches who demonstrate their commitment to empowering women in sport and creating safer and more inclusive environments are invited to take the Navi Pledge.
To assist coaches who want to be more informed about matters of mental health, we have collaborated with the Clinical Programs team at Melbourne Centre for Women’s Mental Health to develop educational resources including online courses.
The course has been designed by the very experienced Clinical team at Melbourne Centre for Women's Mental Health including Senior Clinical Psychologists who have decades of experience working in the field of eating disorders across sectors including public hospital and private hospital, schools, and elite athletes. This course empowers coaches to address eating disorders, body image issues, and compulsive exercise in athletes. It covers recognising warning signs, fostering safe communication, understanding age-appropriate conversations, promoting a positive team culture, and providing resources for ongoing education. The goal is to equip coaches to create a supportive environment and prioritise both physical and mental well-being.
The course includes case studies and interactive assessments as well as an abundance of resources and actionable strategies for immediate application.
Non-judgemental, all questions welcome, all levels of coaches welcome ~ we love that you care enough to commit to this course.
The course will be held online via videoconference and offered over two Monday evenings in June. The course will be repeated on Thursday mornings in July.
