Sam and Sonja
who the hell are we?
We met in July 2020. Sam had already established the Navi brand and worked on a range of triathlon suits that were bold and bright whilst also developing her career as a triathlon coach. Sonja was working hard as a health professional providing support to women and girls through Melbourne Centre for Women's Mental Health. They were living very different lives. Thankfully the triathlon gods brought them together as Coach and athlete. Sam coached Sonja through to her very first triathlon; a couch to triathlon in 6-months. Amidst the Melbourne lockdowns, restrictions and madness that was that time, these two ladies focused on a goal and in that time a real bond between coach and athlete developed.

Sam reached out in 2023 for support keeping the Navi spirit alive, Sonja literally jumped for joy! The brand Navi was already based on female empowerment, women inspiring women and sustainable fashion made here in Australia; a values-driven brand that aligned perfectly with Sonja's values and her overall dedication to empowering women and girls. Sam is currently mentoring Sonja through the design and production of our next Navi range. Sonja has taken the lead in weaving more of the female empowerment fabric into the Navi brand by initiating a 'Brand Ambassador and Athlete Sponsorship Program', to support women in sport and use our Navi platform to promote their causes and charities that relate to women's health. She has also prioritised sponsorship of local community events that offer safe, accessible pathways of entry into sport. They are both currently working on the Navi Coaches Pledge and exploring ways to support research into women's health.
